Instrumentalists & Microphone Setup

When setting up microphones for instruments, be sure the microphone, stand and cable isn’t in the way of the instrumentalist. Mics too close can be hit or impede the movement of the instrumentalist. The same is true of microphone stands.  When setting up, work with the instrumentalist to ensure the equipment is not in their way when playing. In addition, pay attention to how they will move to their position (standing, sitting or wherever it may be) to ensure they can move there with ease and without running into anything or tripping over the cables. Cables should always be run down the mic stand to the base in a manner which prevents the cable from being caught on anything or being in the way. Your courtesy, concern and sensitivity to the needs of instrumentalists will be appreciated.
